Ungelbah Dávila holds a BFA in Creative Writing from the Institute of American Indian Arts. Since her graduation in 2011, her poetry has been published in numerous books and anthologies, including Effigies II and the American Indian Culture and Arts Research Journal: Volume 35, Issue 4. She is a professional storyteller who writes for publications including Table Magazine, New Mexico Magazine, Edible New Mexico, Wild Sam, Lonely Planet, Albuquerque the Magazine, Pasatiempo, and Santa Fe New Mexican's Legacy Magazine, for which she was guest editor in 2023 & 2024.
She is a Truman Capote Literary Trust Scholarship recipient and among the winners of The International Regional Magazine Association Silver Award: Arts and Culture Feature (2022).
In 2011 she created La Loca Magazine, which she self published from 2013-2015 with national distribution. The magazine is currently a part of the Heard Museum archives.
